aka the ongoing saga of the psycho tenant.
So she can afford a cell phone, new furniture and new clothes for her kids but she can't pay the rent. Supposedly she kept her money in the glove box of the car - WTF? I mean really WTF? - and all of it including her $4200 tax refund was stolen. Color me skeptical.
Now she wants to barter - she sign back my car that she hasn't finished paying for in exchange for back rent and propane costs. She's somewhat unclear on the concept of barter as the car is worth less than the rent and the propane. So we say ok but our mechanic has to look at it first to see if we still want it. Then, because NOTHING is simple with her she tells us her other car is not working so we can't have my car back until she can come up with $$ to repair the other car - WTF? again - and again unclear on the concept. And some outrage that we won't guarantee that we'll take my car back in trade. Actual conversation "well you have too because it offsets my back rent." Um, reality check no we don't.
As it stands now our mechanic will look at both cars, surprise my car has problems as well, tell her what's wrong and how much it will cost to fix it. Same for my car.
Here we are once again in suspended animation while this woman who knows how to play the system like a violin doesn't pay her rent.
Let this be a cautionary tale for all of you considering becoming a landlord for the easy money HA!
